Travel Vaccinations

In accordance with NHS Policy, the practice offers a limited number of vaccinations on the NHS.

These are limited to:

  • Cholera
  • Hepatitis A
  • Paratyphoid
  • Poliomyelitis
  • Smallpox
  • Typhoid

Other vaccines may be required, and these are funded by the traveller directly (usually via a private travel service).  The practice is unable to assist with these.

If you are due to travel you are advised to check the destination information provided at FitforTravel.  If the vaccinations that you require are in the above list please contact the practice at the earliest opportunity to schedule these (at least 8 weeks prior to travel).  You are still advised to consider contacting a private travel clinic for the full spectrum of travel advice.

We often receive requests from travellers who have not allowed enough time for the vaccines to take effect and / or to book appointments for administration of vaccines as travel appointments are limited.  In such instances you may be directed to a private travel service.
